Getting ready for Hurricane Irma!
September 5, 2017

Days after Hurricane Harvey caused so much havoc all across Texas, we here in Florida are finding ourselves preparing for what is being classified as the strongest hurricane to have formed in the Atlantic within the passed decade. Although Irma’s path is not certain, we will without a doubt be feeling her wrath and should not be taking this lightly.
It is imperative that in the coming days we make sure to be fully stocked with bottled water and canned goods to last us a few days; many local supermarkets such as Publix have already ran out. Other locations like Lowes are completely out of camping supplies (flashlights etc.), so make sure you don’t wait last minute to get candles and lighting supplies, along with batteries.
Rick Scott has issued an state of emergency for all counties in Florida and Key West was issued an immediate evacuation order. As a true Miami native, I would normally be the one to yell ” Hurricane Party,” but this really is no joke. All Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Monroe schools will be closed this Thursday and Friday. Tolls on all Florida roads will be suspended in preparation for Hurricane Irma. That being said, now is the time to get any last minute preparations out of the way.
