Axwell Performs At Disney World

Written by on January 28, 2020

This past weekend, Axwell performed inside Disney’s Magic Kingdom. I can’t think of a better backdrop for a DJ to perform in front of than Cinderella’s Castle. I also can’t think of a better company when it comes to show business and production than Disney. The Walt Disney World Resort surprised their Cast Members (i.e. employees) with an epic set by the Swedish House Mafia DJ.

As you’d expect, Disney pulled out all the stops: huge stage, insane lighting, epic fireworks, the whole nine. And, somehow, an Axwell-Disney partnership kind of makes sense.

Axwell is the more family-friendly member of an already pretty family-friendly DJ trio. He’s a bit corny, but in the charming, dad joke kind of way. Perfect for Disney.

But more importantly, Axwell – and Swedish House Mafia, for that matter – has always focused on production and showmanship. SHM shows consist of their very own light set up, giant screens, special effects; pretty much anything that Disney is really, really good at. Disney is the greatest company when it comes to putting on a show. I mean, they call their employees Cast Members, for crying out loud!

And these Cast Members were treated to quite a show. You should definitely check out the social media posts that some of these Cast Members sent out. It just looks like something out of an epic music festival. I’m most impressed with the fact that the fireworks were timed perfectly to the edits that Axwell was playing on that incredible stage.

Disney should probably step in and start producing EDM festivals. They would probably be the best festival production company on the planet. I mean, they have taken everything over from Star Wars to Marvel. Why not go into the festival space, am I right? Imagine: Disney presents: Electric Daisy Carnival.
