EDC Orlando 2018 Sets’ Grades

Written by on November 12, 2018

Another incredible year in the books! We know that now everyone was able to attend the event, so i wanted to recap and rate my experience of some of the sets I saw! I’d like to remind everyone that this is strictly my opinion, but you are more than welcome to comment your thoughts!

Timmy Trumpet: The very talent Australian musician really went all out. As always, showing his skills not only on the decks, but with his very famous trumpet. Playing a mix of big room, psytrance, hardstyle, and hardcore, Timmy’s upbeat and uptempo set brought the crowd to life. You could feel his energy, and people were feeding off of it. Music selection was great, atmosphere was great, and will definitely would recommend seeing him! Rating: 10/10.

Don Diablo: The 2018 1001 Tracklist #1 DJ really put on a show! Great music selection, although I feel he did not engage with the crowd enough. I feel this in part because of his mellow style of music. The overall production was great, but I do feel an earlier time slot would have been better. Rating 8/10

Dillon Francis & Friends: This one was disappointing. First off, Dillon was up there by himself up until the last song of the set. He didn’t seem like he was too into the set. Love Dillon, and maybe my expectations were just a little too high? He always puts on a show, so I know this wasn’t him. I did like that he brought Alison Wonderland on stage to play their unreleased track, which by the way, is a banger! Rating: 6/10

Alesso: This one hurt. Alesso is one of my favorite DJs, and Friday night he did not have it. Really like the song selection, but his energy was not there. With his style, you expect a little more from him. He just seemed to go through the motions, and wasn’t into it. Hopefully he bounces back. Rating 6/10

Martin Garrix: It’s really tough for Martin to have a bad set because of all his hit songs. Brought a lot of energy to the set, and the crowd was electric. Only issue I have is how repetitive his sets are. Same build up, same count down. Don’t get me wrong, it’s why his sets are so iconic, but maybe change it up once in a while? Still, overall, incredible set! Beautiful closing to Day 1. Rating 8/10

Nervo B2B Alok: This one took me by surprise! Incredible production all the way around! Very impressed from start to finish! Long story short, it was of the best three sets of the weekend. Rating 10/10.

Tiesto: Before I talk about the set, I just want everyone to know that I shook the man’s hand in the elevator, and because of that, he is getting a 10/10. His set was flawless, with great song selection, and full production. There is just something about a Tiesto Sunset Set, that takes the festival to another level. The Godfather of EDM did not disappoint.

Kayzo: Um… he definitely lit it up! No, really, the stage caught fire! Anyone who has ever seen Kayzo knows how insane his sets are. He always goes hard, and people go crazy for him! Kayzo did perform at the Corona Stage later in the night, but he played as if he was on the main stage! He was electric, and the crowd was too big for that stage! Definitely impressed with how he dealt with the whole situation. Rating 9/10

Vini Vici: The kings of Psy. My goodness! Incredible from start to finish. When I tell you they went hard, I mean they went HARD!!! Absolutely amazing from start to finish! Rating 10/10

Kaskade: Kaskade hit a home run with his performance. This, to me, was a perfect set. Everything about it was amazing, So much so that he became my favorite DJ. Rating 100/10

EDC Orlando overall was an amazing experience! It was my first time attending this event, and it was something I will definitely be back for! Till next year!
