Tomorrowland has received official backing from Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) to stage its first flagship Asian edition in December 2026 at Wisdom Valley, Chonburi, welcoming up to 50,000 fans per day over three days and projecting a multibillion-baht boost to the local economy.
Thailand’s Board of Investment has approved promotion incentives for VR One World (Thailand) to bring Tomorrowland to the Kingdom, confirming that the first edition of Tomorrowland Thailand is scheduled for December 2026 at Wisdom Valley in Chonburi. The festival will run for three days and is designed to accommodate up to 50,000 attendees per day, making it one of the largest electronic music events ever staged in Southeast Asia. Officials estimate that the project will generate at least 21 billion baht in economic value over the first five years, through tourism, hospitality and related services.
The project is being developed by VR One World (Thailand), a Thai–Belgian joint venture. On the international side, TL International is affiliated with the Tomorrowland Group and holds the rights to the festival brand, bringing more than two decades of experience organizing large-scale electronic music events across multiple countries. On the Thai side, One Asia Ventures contributes over a decade of experience in international EDM events, including the Siam Songkran Music Festival and other large productions. Together, they will stage Tomorrowland Thailand as a full-scale extension of the original Belgian experience, complete with immersive stages, storytelling, and high-end production.
BOI secretary-general Narit Therdsteerasukdi confirmed that the project falls under Thailand’s recently expanded category for international music, sports and festival events, which was introduced to position the country as a regional hub for world-class happenings. In parallel, the Thai cabinet has already approved a budget of around 2 billion baht to support the festival’s rollout as an annual event from 2026 to 2030. The inaugural edition in December 2026 will therefore be the first of at least five planned Tomorrowland Thailand installments, subject to performance and ongoing collaboration between organizers and authorities.
Wisdom Valley in Chonburi has been identified as the venue for the festival, placing Tomorrowland Thailand within reach of Pattaya’s resorts and roughly a couple of hours from Bangkok’s international airports. Organizers expect more than 60 percent of attendees to fly in from overseas, with Thailand’s existing tourism infrastructure playing a key role in handling the influx of visitors. Hotels in the Chonburi and Pattaya area, as well as in Bangkok, are expected to see strong demand, alongside restaurants, nightlife venues, local transport operators and tour providers offering pre- and post-festival experiences.
Beyond the music and tourism headlines, the BOI approval also includes a skills component under the Tomorrowland Academy initiative. This program is designed to transfer international standards in festival production, logistics, safety, and hospitality to Thai workers and businesses. The aim is to leave a lasting legacy in Thailand’s event and tourism industries, improving local capabilities and creating more opportunities for Thai companies to participate in the global festival ecosystem. BOI has also emphasized policy changes designed to ease equipment imports, visas and work permits for foreign artists and production crews, making it simpler for major organizers to stage large-scale events in the country.
For fans, the BOI green light turns years of rumor into a concrete plan. Tomorrowland Thailand’s first edition is locked in for December 2026, with a three-day format at Wisdom Valley and a capacity of 50,000 people per day. While the lineup and stage concepts will be revealed closer to the date, early signals from local promotion and travel operators suggest that tickets are expected to go on sale around February 2026, with tiered passes and travel packages likely to follow the structure used in other Tomorrowland editions. Some third-party agencies are already teasing bundled offers that pair festival access with hotels in Pattaya or Bangkok, airport transfers and additional experiences.
The move underscores a broader strategy by Thai authorities to capture more of the global festival tourism market. By combining a globally recognized brand like Tomorrowland with Thailand’s established reputation as a warm-weather destination, officials hope to attract high-spending younger visitors, generate new revenue for hotels, restaurants and local businesses, and further strengthen the country’s image as a regional entertainment hub. For the worldwide EDM community, the announcement opens up a new annual pilgrimage: a full-scale Tomorrowland experience in Southeast Asia, framed by tropical temperatures, beachside escapes and the nightlife of Bangkok and Pattaya.
As preparations move forward, Tomorrowland Thailand now has three key pillars in place: BOI backing, a defined venue at Wisdom Valley, and a five-year framework linking festival delivery to wider economic and skills development goals. The remaining details—lineup, stage design, ticket structure and official sale timelines—will determine how quickly the event sells out and how strongly it resonates with fans already used to the Belgian and winter editions. For now, one thing is clear: December 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark moment for both Tomorrowland and Asia’s festival scene.
