Tomorrowland Thailand Gets BOI Approval for December 2026 Debut

todayDecember 29, 2025

Background
Tomorrowland Thailand is official. Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) has approved incentives for VR One World (Thailand) to bring the festival to the Kingdom. The first edition is set for December 2026 at Wisdom Valley in Chonburi. It will run for three days with up to 50,000 fans per day. That makes it one of the largest electronic music events ever in Southeast Asia. Officials expect at least 21 billion baht in economic value over the first five years.

Who is behind Tomorrowland Thailand

VR One World (Thailand) is a Thai–Belgian joint venture. On the international side, TL International is linked to the Tomorrowland Group and holds the brand rights. It brings over two decades of experience with large events. On the Thai side, One Asia Ventures adds more than ten years of international EDM events, including the Siam Songkran Music Festival. Together, they will stage a full-scale version of the Belgian experience, with immersive stages, storytelling and high-end production.

BOI secretary-general Narit Therdsteerasukdi confirmed that the project fits a new category for international music, sports and festival events. This category aims to make Thailand a regional hub for world-class events. In addition, the Thai cabinet approved about 2 billion baht to support the festival every year from 2026 to 2030. So December 2026 is the first of at least five planned editions.

The venue and the visitors

Wisdom Valley in Chonburi is close to Pattaya’s resorts and about two hours from Bangkok’s airports. Organizers expect more than 60% of fans to fly in from abroad. As a result, hotels in Chonburi, Pattaya and Bangkok should see strong demand. Restaurants, nightlife, transport and tour operators will benefit too.

The approval also includes a skills program called Tomorrowland Academy. It will train Thai workers and businesses in festival production, logistics, safety and hospitality. The goal is a lasting legacy for Thailand’s event industry. Moreover, BOI is easing equipment imports, visas and work permits for foreign artists and crews.

What fans should know

For fans, years of rumors are now a real plan. The first edition is locked for December 2026: three days at Wisdom Valley, 50,000 people per day. The lineup and stages will come later. However, local promoters and travel operators expect tickets to go on sale around February 2026. Some agencies already tease packages with hotels in Pattaya or Bangkok and airport transfers.

The move is part of a wider Thai strategy to win more festival tourism. By pairing Tomorrowland with Thailand’s warm-weather appeal, officials hope to attract high-spending young visitors. In short, the global EDM community gets a new yearly pilgrimage in Southeast Asia.

Three pillars are now in place: BOI backing, a confirmed venue and a five-year plan linked to economic and skills goals. The lineup, stage design and ticketing will decide how fast it sells out. Either way, December 2026 looks like a landmark moment for Tomorrowland and for Asia’s festival scene.

Thailand will become the first country in Asia to host the iconic Belgian-born festival, under a five-year framework targeting high-spending international visitors and major tourism growth.
