Last week, sad news came out for all the fans of Depeche Mode and electronic music in general. Indeed, the keyboardist Andrew Fletcher passed away.

He was one of the founders of the British band in 1980 and, of course, one of the pillars of the entire music career of the band. Unfortunately, due to an unknown cause, he passed away at the age of 60.

The full statement posted by the band on social media said:

“We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness with the untimely passing of our dear friend, family member, and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher. Fletch had a true heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh, or a cold pint. Our hearts are with his family, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts and respect their privacy in this difficult time.”

Andrew Fletcher, now RIP.
