Tiesto remixes “Barbie Girl” from 1997

To celebrate the 26th anniversary of the release of “Barbie Girl,” Dutch DJ and producer Tiesto has signed on to create the first official remix of Aqua’s iconic track.

The original version of the song reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1997, amassing over 9 billion streams worldwide. The Danish group currently boasts over 10 million monthly unique listeners on Spotify, thanks in part to the song “Barbie Girl” garnering 400 million streams.

Tiesto’s remix of the track is released just in time for the premiere of the film featuring the world’s most famous doll, Barbie. Speaking of the film, several songs from its soundtrack have already been released, including “Dance The Night” by Dua Lipa and “Watati” by Karol G.
